Bitfineon Beta Demo Trading Contest

5 posts in this topic

What if we had a demo trading contest that lasted throughout beta?

Reason #1. Testing - It would encourage participants to continually use the beta, therefore providing a more thorough
and consistent testing phase.

Reason #2. Publicity - Competition tends to draw attention. People like to compete with one another and a contest could result in more
traders joining the ALQO community in order to take part. There could be a scoreboard. Bitches love scoreboards.

Reason #3 FUN - It would entertain and give purpose to all those ALQO holders like me who cannot wait to get their hands on bitfineon.

Possible Rules/Tenants

- there would be a determined start day, perhaps a week into beta, when participants would receive 1 demo BTC (or 10,000 demo XLQ?) to use in the contest.

- the competition would end at the end of the beta phase

- there would be no withdrawing or deposits allowed, obviously. perhaps there would just be temporary pairings for the demo BTC (or XLQ) that only exists in bitfineon beta

- there would be no entry fee. HOWEVER, in order to participate members must complete a checklist of various tests and tasks on bitfineon. for instance, making a transfer... or using a stop loss... or setting up 2FA... whatever Kevin can come up with that he feels should be tested over and over. since every person is different in the way they follow instructions and use things, this would provide an even more thorough testing phase and productive feedback loop between the community and the team. contest participants would be credited their demo BTC or XLQ upon completing the checklist and would then be eligible to begin contest trading.

- there would of course have to be a reward for the winner/winners. perhaps a stack of XLQ or maybe a 2x bonus on bitfineon profit shares for a year... (or forever?)

please feel free to contribute to this idea.

another note on publicity/scoreboards because i wasn't allowed to edit again... the traders that climb to the top of the scoreboard could also potentially be people who have a lot of followers... so when they share the scoreboard to brag about their position, boom! more publicity.

I dont know exactly but it is a very good idea as competitions always attract users (men in particular 😉 ) and is btw good fun tbh.

A couple of weeks ago I've shared a quote to the team:

Quote

Kate Kurbanova from Akropolis, praises recent community quest: “We’ve been asking its participants to go through a series of fun and interesting tasks (solve the quiz, solve the riddle, find the hidden word) along with action tasks in telegram (e.g. tell us about the pension problems you have in your country) that drove the discussion and provided some interesting insights for both the community and team members. During this quest, our daily telegram message count raised from 50-60 messages to around 2000 at its peak – and the best thing is that these messages were quality ones, not just flooding.

It did really well in terms of community engagement, and we are working hard on the next one – this time with more content, promotion and better user experience.”

its from this article which is btw. a really nice read:

I dont know if the team has considered it as a way to go but with your suggestions a good start would be made. I will ask them if any ressources can be drawn to this (as obv. some kind of technical solution needs to be found to track that stuff...etc.).

If anyone has ideas regarding such a contest please post it here. Maybe we as community managers can come up with a contest like thing which does not require too much support from the dev team.

Cheers

Great idea, I‘m sure we can work on something in anticipation of the Bitfineon launch and ALQOs key role in the ecosystem!
